Story

TEAM!

I'm reaching out far and wide to help raise AS MUCH FUNDS and AWARENESS as I possibly can for DEMENTIA UK over the next few months.

We have until mid June 2024 to make a difference and I intend to do exactly that with everyone's help! The £££ base goal is hitting the 4-figure mark together with looking to match just as many conversations on the topic as possible. I'm confident we can achieve both these targets with everyone's super powers!

WHAT & WHEN?

In ode to the challenge many face on a daily basis with this disease, I will attempt putting the ol taped-together, rusty, creaky body through a 100km (62miles) trail race with 1500m of elevations from London to Brighton. The pins will likely run, walk, and crawl to try get this pilgrimage done in one effort on Saturday 25th May 2024.

WHY?

For a cause close to home that not only affects my dear mother, Penny, but many others across the globe. Individuals and families face incredibly difficult circumstances as a result of dementia. There is very little assistance or knowledge on how to cope with this debilitating disease and I want to do what I can to help.

As much as this is about raising money, it is also about spreading awareness and educating on Dementia and other progressive brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s across my immediate circle. The challenge for you is to hopefully do the same. Even the smallest butterfly effect can turn into something notable and positive in the future.

I hope this can inspire you to find purpose beyond your own ego.

WHO?

For Dementia UK, who do an amazing job in the caring space for those affected by the disease. They, through their "Admiral Nurses", offer a free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia. Each penny will help raise vital funds, improve care and support for families facing dementia and spread the word about their specialist nurses.

*^*^* DONATION STATION PLAYLIST *^*^*

For all donators, I'm looking for 3x songs of choice for the 100km run. You'll not only be in thought during the day but help provide motivation and some much needed vibe & entertainment. Hopefully we can populate a playlist with some bangers for you to also enjoy : )

- You can directly send me your songs.

- Add them to the comment section when donating.

- Use the link below to collaborate directly (if on Apple Music).

THANK YOU!

I believe each pound, share, and conversation about Dementia and Alzheimer's will help power support for those struggling. Hopefully I'll be able to cross the finish line with a big heart and a full purse to do my part in helping others to battle this disease.

Feel free to follow my journey below, where I'll try keep you all updated with the fundraising and training efforts as best as I can.
