Story
I joined the university of Durham in 2022 and soon after became an ambassador DUCFS and a member of the Durham university swimming team. Swimming became a passion for me from a young age and changed my life in little and big ways. I wanted to show my support to the Rainbow Trust Foundation because it resonates with me as I understand the importance of support and care being available during a difficult time. I truly understand that every moment that can be made easier makes a difference to a loved one.
DUCFS 2023
2023 is an extremely exciting year for DUCFS as we not only celebrate our 40th anniversary but also the partnership that has been formed with The Rainbow Trust, an organisation that provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
With an estimated 86,625 children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening diseases, The Rainbow Trusts family support workers provide a lifeline to the many families in need, through both practical and emotional aid.
The Rainbow Trust currently relies on donations in order to rebuild families and services that have been, and still are, heavily affected by the pandemic. We aim to raise enough money to make a real impact on the lives of those who rely so heavily on the family support workers. Henceforth, all DUCFS Exec, models and college reps are partaking in different fundraising projects to raise as much as possible for this incredible cause.
