Story
In 2022 the total number of drug overdose deaths in America climbed to a record 107,941. Among those was my dear friend Adam. Adam and I met on the high school swim team and our friendship is one that does not end with his passing. Among the many great things Adam brought to my life, Golf may be one of his biggest contributions. He brought me out to the course in college and i thought the game was a joke because of how difficult it was. Fast forward 12 years and I cannot get enough of the game. I think golf is a great metaphor for life. It challenges you both physically and mentally. For the longest time I have wanted to get a group of people together for a fun golf outing. We finally decided to move forward with one, BUT we added this little twist. We are raising money for the Jamie Daniels Foundation, which is a organization that provides resources to young adults battling substance abuse (heavily targeting Michigan college campuses) with the goal of Prevention, Recovery, and Stigma Reduction. This foundation was founded after the passing of Detroit Red Wings play-by-play announcer Ken Daniel's son, Jamie. I felt this foundation was the perfect one to play for because Adam was also a big Red Wings fan.
The substance abuse crisis in America is affecting too many people. While it often feels impossible to make a difference, your donation WILL help in turning this ship around and getting us back to a place where this is no longer the norm.
I sincerely appreciate any donation given. May God Bless you and your families
