Story
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to 1,732 call outs in 21/22 alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death. The GNAAS are available 365 days a year, rain or shine averaging roughly 5 call outs a day.
To support their tremendous work I will be attempting to run every single day of the year and complete at least 1732km (1076miles). The longest RED I have done was to 51 so this will certainly stretch my resilience!
I will also be attempting to break a world record at the GNR by completing the fastest half marathon by a 3D aircraft (currently 2hr25mins)!
Surely that, combined with the fact that the GNAAS is a fantastic charity, is worth a sponsor? Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference to the charity continuing to flourish!
