We rehome over 1300 pets a year to help improve animal welfare in the UK

Story

Hi everyone!

Firstly, thank you for taking the time out to come and visit my JustGiving page. It means the world to me that your support or even just curiosity has brought you here!

I hope to do my best and give you all an incite into not only the adventure I have coming up but also a chance to be part of it with me and together an amazing opportunity for us to give a little something back and to help such a wonderful cause!

(Don't worry I'll be doing all the climbing)

Some years back whilst on a trip with my partner to Wales, we decided to try something completely new to us and undertake our first hike. We set off to climb mount Yr Wyddf (Snowdon as it was known back then). After a grueling 4 hour climb we had made it to the summit, a moment I will never forget and safe to say from this my new found hobby was born. I have now hiked Yr Wyddf multiple times alongside Scaffell Pyke, Kinderscout and lots of other stunning locations around the UK from the Scottish highlands to the moors of Dartmoor to name a few.

Now it is finally time to visit the one I've been eagerly awaiting for... Ben Nevis!

This time however I have decided rather than just undertaking the challenge for my own personal interest, I would like to coincide it and do my part in raising money for charity.

The charity I have chosen to climb on behalf of is the National Animal Welfare Trust. This is a cause that resonates with me on a personal level as mine and my partners beloved dog Luna, is a Romanian rescue dog . Although she did not come through NAWT, she came from another charity specializing in the rehoming of needing animals who are in search of that little thing we all take for granted. A loving home.

National Animal Welfare Trust is a Rescue and Rehoming charity; caring for and rehoming up to 1300 animals a year. They care for animals who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own, bring them back to good health, train them and finally find them a loving forever home. They never stop caring and are here as long as an animal needs them, offering continued support to everyone that rehomes a pet. Their mission is to promote responsible pet ownership throughout the UK so that one day every pet might have that forever home all animals deserve.

I will be specifically raising funds on behalf of the new Bedfordshire rehoming center. It’s a very exciting time for NAWT as they rebuild the crumbling buildings to make way for the new kennels and catteries that will help generations of pets and their owners in years to come. The busy center has been helping animals since the 1970’s. Over the years the collection of farm buildings at the site are starting to slowly fall apart and last summer the charity launched a major appeal to help modernise and transform the place for the future.

Right, that's enough from me. It's now time to put the work in and get training for the big event! Thank you all in advance for your support! It means so much to me but more importantly NAWT as every penny will make all the difference!

I will be posting updates as much as I can to keep you all up to date with my progress and for your viewing pleasure.

Wish me luck and thank you all ♥️
