Story
I'm attempting to run the Cambridge Biomedical Campus 10k on Sunday 1st September!
In 2016 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and received immunotherapy treatment at Addenbrookes with a drug called Campath (Lemtrada). Fast forward to 2024 and this drug has so far worked, my last scan showing no more lesions! Whoop Whoop!
I also now find myself working at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology or the LMB (LMBee)....This wonderful place full of incredibly talented people, developed the techniques that led to the formation of Campath which has helped me immeasurably. The medal for finishing the 10K has references to this incredible scientific work and therefore this is personal!
I have been stung into buzzing around the course dressed as our LMBee 'mascot' with fancy dress wings, a floaty tutu and all the associated paraphernalia!
The charity I am running for is Bike the UK for MS, a small charity who I cycled Lands End to John O'Groats for in 2021. All raised funds go to local MS support groups across the country. It's been a tough year for the charity so please if you can donate a little it would really help them.
Thank you
Adam
