Story
Having struggled with my own mental health and experienced the darkness of depression, stress, and social anxiety I have a decided to raise awareness of this issue.
From May 5th, I’ll be running 15 marathons in 15 days to help raise awareness and money for men’s mental charity Andy’s Man Club.
Why 15? Well, because in England 15 people die by suicide everyday. 11 of these people are men. That’s almost one person every 2 hours. These are scary statistics.
Andy’s Man Club is a men’s mental health charity aiming to reduce these numbers. They run peer facilitated support sessions for men who are going through a storm or have gone through one. I know first hand the great work Andy’s Man Club do as I am one of over 4,000 men who attend every Monday.
Therefore, I’m running a marathon everyday to raise awareness about suicide and one of the charities that is trying to reduce it.
The last 7 days of this challenge are also in Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19 May).
If you can donate that would be amazing. If you are struggling with your mental health checkout where your nearest Andy’s Man Club. Walking through the door is hard, but you won’t meet a more welcoming group of men.
