Story
We are aiming to raise money as a tribute to a member of my family named Sophie Kline.
Sophie was diagnosed in 2014 with DIPG- Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, which is a type of brain tumour. She battled bravely with the disease, surviving 10 months, passing in the April of 2015 aged just 8 years old.
Sophie, a typical 7-year-old, relished life and school as she embraced the journey of growing up. With her friendly and kind personality, she became a cherished member of our family.
In 2014 she developed a squint in her eye and after a trip to the opticians they referred her to Salisbury Hospital. It was there that they were given the life changing news.
I'm therefore taking on this meaningful challenge alongside my fellow Newton House prefects because we are passionate about making a difference in the lives of families facing or have faced unimaginable heartbreak—the harsh reality that their children may not live into adulthood.
Julia’s House is a Children's Hospice providing invaluable, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions, offering their parents much-needed respite. Julia’s House relies on raising 93 percent of its annual funding to sustain this vital service, which is why I have chosen to throw my support behind them.
Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing impact in the lives of these families.
