Story

On Sunday, 27th April, I will be lacing up my running shoes for the TCS 2025 London Marathon, covering 26.2 miles in support of Brain Research UK.

This run is dedicated to the loving memory of Ian Wicks, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ian's thoughtful nature, kindness, and infectious sense of humour brightened every room he entered.

Tragically, in April 2024, Ian, aged 66, suffered a fatal brain haemorrhage while practicing at the golf driving range. Although we cannot bring him back, we can ensure his memory lives on. In his honour, I have committed to supporting Brain Research UK, with the generous support of Acrisure London.

We invite you to join us in this campaign, not only to remember Ian but also to make a significant contribution to brain health research. Your support will help advance research and potentially save lives, ensuring that Ian’s legacy continues to inspire positive change.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for keeping Ian's memory alive. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It controls our emotions, senses and actions. So when it breaks down, we break down. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected. Let’s unite to accelerate progress. Today.
