Story
Every year, Active Health has a Festive Fundraiser and this year we're excited to be supporting Aware NI's excellent work here in Northern Ireland.
We'll be undertaking a 12 Day step challenge with the goal of staying active and boosting our mental wellbeing in the process! It starts on November 29th with only 1000 steps a day and increases daily until December 10th when we're going to have a group coastal walk to get our 12000 steps in and celebrate the end of the challenge!
We welcome all donations to AwareNI as part of this challenge, and, if you've not yet signed up and would love to find out more or join us for the 12 Days of Fitmas - please click here to sign up!
As well as the Christmas period being physically challenging for many people it is also a difficult time to maintain mental health. A poll in March 23 reports that 70% of adults in NI have reported mental health difficulties in the past 12 months. Therefore, this year we will be raising money for AwareNI a great mental health charity.
AWARE is the depression charity for Northern Ireland working for people with depression and bipolar disorder.
AWARE has an established network of 24 support groups in rural and urban areas across the country, which are run by trained volunteers. Support groups welcome people with depression & bipolar disorder as well as carers for people with the illness. AWARE deliver mental health & well being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities & workplaces across Northern Ireland. For more information visit www.aware-ni.org
