Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
ANDYSMANCLUB is our chosen charity of the year. They are a male suicide prevention charity that facilitates peer to peer support groups across the United Kingdom. Groups are accessible to any man over 18 and are open every Monday 7pm (except bank holidays). There is no charge to attend a club, we have no referral policy, no waiting lists, no signing in and men can simply turn up.
ANDYSMANCLUB takes its name from Andrew Roberts, a man who sadly took his own life aged 23 in early 2016. Andy’s family had no inkling that he was suffering or struggling to the extent that he would do this, and as a result looked deeper into male suicide and men’s mental health.
Suicide is the biggest killer of men in the UK, in 2021 3852 men died by suicide. Men accounted for 74% of UK suicides in 2021. ANDYSMANCLUB aim to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation to see that, #ITSOKAYTOTALK.
To help raise much needed funds for ANDYSMANCLUB, some of the ACEDA team are going to complete the Cleveland 4 peaks 18km trek. As part of the walk, we will climb Captain Cooks Monument, High Cliff, Roseberry Topping and Little Roseberry. The walk is approximately 18km (10 miles) and will take around 6 - 8 hours to complete.
We would appreciate any donations large or small to raise essential funds and motivate our team along the way!
