Story

This year, I am proud to be running the London Marathon and fundraising for my local charity - the Cardinal Hume Centre, in partnership with the Lord Mayor of Westminster's charity appeal.

Cardinal Hume Centre does indispensable work in increasing awareness of the issues facing young people and their families in Westminster, particularly the rising numbers of children living in poor-quality temporary accommodation as a direct result of the national housing crisis. With 25% of Westminster’s children living in poverty, the Centre is trying to break the cycle, providing support with everything from accommodation to immigration to employment.

As a Westminster resident, I witness the heartbreaking consequences of poverty, daily. From rough sleeping to substance abuse and hygiene poverty - these are horrific circumstances that no person should have to endure, let alone a child. Please help me fund the vital work, done by CHC, so that we may contribute to reversing this trend and give children in poverty their childhood back.
