Story
Asalam Aleykum,
My sons and I, Haneef and Khalid are fundraising for our local community Mosque by taking part on Climbing Mount Snowdon.
Wythenshawe Masjid
Wythenshawe Muslim Association (WMA) was established in January 2022 in response to the growing needs of the Muslim community in the area. Since then, WMA has grown rapidly and, in February 2023, established the first-ever Masjid in Wythenshawe alhamdulillah.
Wythenshawe Masjid aims to be an active and vibrant Masjid, sharing the same vision and ethos as its mother organisation, Cheadle Masjid. Our aims are to connect people to Allah (swt) and to establish a confident British Muslim community; we aspire to provide excellence in Islamic education, address community needs and develop community cohesion.
Our Masjid has recently been purchased through Qard Hasan (interest free loans) from the local community; indeed, it was a blessing that the community was able to recognise the need and come together at very short notice to enable the purchase of this building masha’Allah.
However, these loans must be repaid in a timely manner. Therefore, we need to raise funds in order to accomplish our target of £450,000; and we pray that together we can achieve this insha’Allah.
Establishing a Masjid is a great opportunity for anyone to be involved in; it isn’t something that occurs every day, in fact it may never occur again in our lifetime. It is an opportunity to create our own Sadaqah Jariyah insha’Allah for years to come, a charity that benefits us long after we have departed this life.
Abu Hurayrah (r) reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
For enquiries email us at: office@wythenshawemasjid.org
“When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing
charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous son who will
pray for him.” (Muslim)
