Story
I will be running the London Marathon on 27th April 2025. I will be running 26.2 miles through London to raise money for a charity close to my heart, MND Scotland, and will be doing this in loving memory of my Dad.
My Dad was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease at the age of 33 and lost his battle with this terminal illness on 16th November 2010 at the age of just 35. I was only seven and my younger brother only two when my dad sadly passed away. Me, my mum, my brother and the rest of the family were left with a massive hole in our hearts.
In the years since my dad passed away, my mum has raised thousands of pounds for MND Scotland, so I want to be able to follow in her footsteps and have been keen to fundraise for the charity and try to raise as much money as possible for them.
Throughout the years I have completed many fundraisers such as a glass and fire walk, zip wires and bake sales but the London Marathon will be my biggest and toughest fundraiser to date!!
I know this will be a tough fundraiser as I am not a runner and I am starting from scratch, however throughout my training and on the day of the race my dad will be at the forefront of my mind to help me through.
Any donations at all, great or small, are very much appreciated, So please share this page far and wide to help me reach my target :)
MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease (MND), as well as funding research to take us a step closer to a cure.
We want a world without Motor Neuron Disease, so I’m fundraising because I want to help find a cure for this devastating disease.
Sponsoring me will also help MND Scotland to provide practical, financial, and emotional support to people affected by MND.
Thank you!
