Story
2 and a half years ago my nephew Ted was born. The most beautiful snuggly boy. Ted lived for 11 days. 11 of the best days. A week of his life was spent at Christophers, one of the Shooting Star Children's Hospices.
Many think of a Hospice as a place that people go to die but that couldn't be further from the truth. Surrounded by his family, Ted got to live. We created incredible memories in the most supportive and calm environment.
Shooting star's care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across Surrey and London and truly are able to make sure that every moment counts no matter how short that life may be.
I hope no one has to go through what we did but if you do, you need these services. The staff and settings that Shooting Star's offer are incredible and money raised really does make such a difference to a child and their families lives.
As many know I was never a runner. But a while ago now I decided that I couldn't accept my brain telling me that and so I made myself a runner. I love it now and actually running was a big part of how I coped with my grief in the early weeks and months of loosing Ted. I have never run as far as a half marathon but now seems to be the time!
So please, support and help me raise money for Shooting Star's.
