In memory of Vinnie

Fundraising for Abigail's Footsteps
Here is a little back story and our reason for raising as much money as possible for such an amazing and heart-warming cause to us.
In loving memory of Vinnie Horace Wilkins whom was born sleeping on the 25th January 2022.
My sister-in-law Jessica went into hospital on the 22nd January with pains which then led to being given the most heartbreaking news that any mother that is expecting a child could receive.. Vinnie no longer had a heartbeat and had passed away.
Due to continuous covid restrictions in the hospitals at this time Jessica could not have her family with her until she had given birth. Imagine how hard that must be to not be allowed your family in such a crucial time when you require support and comfort from your loved ones the most. Having said this..that didn’t stop her mum and sisters sleeping in their cars outside the hospital awaiting Vinnie’s arrival.
A few days after Jessica arrived at the hospital she went into labour and gave birth to a big beautiful sleeping boy Vinnie whom weighed a whooping 2lbs8oz at 26 weeks 4 days.
Jessica’s experience was heartbreaking. Thankfully she got to spend 2 days extra in the hospital with Vinnie and her family, Jess got the chance to change, dress Vinnie and get some cuddles and kisses for what would be the first and final time..all down to the cold cot which had helped to preserve Vinnie in order for Jess to spend this precious time with him.
Unfortunately this hospital only had 1 cold cot which led me to thinking that if this had happened to anyone else at the same time then that other family would not have had the opportunity that my sister-in-law had to spend those first and final moments together with her baby.
This June myself family members and good friends who love a challenge especially for a good cause will be taking part in the fan dance series which consists of a 24km trek of Pen y Fan, we will each be carrying either 25lbs or 35lbs in weight on our backs. Please help us to raise as much money as possible as it is our goal to provide as many cold cots as we can to hospitals and grieving parents whom are in need of them.
Abigail's Footsteps extends its compassionate reach in many ways, offering solace to parents navigating the difficult journey of baby loss. Our initiatives encompass crafting nurturing spaces within hospitals, supplying essential equipment that allows parents precious moments with their babies, and delivering essential bereavement training to midwives who may not have received this crucial education.
Your contribution, no matter the size, holds the power to bring about profound change. To all those who have generously donated already, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
