Story
I’m a big believer that in this day and age everyone should be able to have a roof over their head every night and be kept out of the elements.
I understand anyone can be affected by homelessness. Relationship breakdowns, loss of employment and ill health are all common reasons why someone can become homeless, but there are many others.
So I’m raising money for both the RNRMC and Alabaré. (Homes for Veterans)
Homes for Veterans is a service (and initiative) run by Alabaré that supports service men and women across the UK who have served our country, and who experience difficulty adjusting to civilian life. Homes for Veterans help veterans of the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force to gain the skills and confidence they need to move on to their own accommodation.
Unfortunately, the issue of homelessness is not going away any time soon and for this reason alone we need to look at new ways to provide support and encouragement to those seeking to rebuild their lives.
To help both of these epic charities I’m therefore going to run the entire length of this epic country, via trails, covering approx 1000miles over 35 days.
To build up to this mammoth event I have also entered a 70 Mile Ultra (Carlisle to Newcastle) following Hadrians Wall. (17 July 2023) Then April 2024 I will be running over the Isle of Arran twice (70 mile over two days) before starting this crazy adventure Run Britannia. Please see the link below for an overview of the task.
