Pennyhooks Farm provides a unique experience for young people and adults on the Autistic spectrum to be involved in meaningful work within a small organic farm on the Oxfordshire Wiltshire border. The farm has donkeys, chickens and goats, and also woodwork, arts and crafts, music and horticulture.
I have experienced, first-hand, how a deep understanding of autism combined with meaningful work has liberated many young people and helped them learn new skills, gain in confidence and discover new talents. It’s a joy to see. My daughter attends the farm and I feel that, as a parent, I want to “give something back”. Since January this year I have been training for an epic bike ride in France which will involve cycling nearly 1000 miles from St Malo in the north to Nice in the south. The trip starts on 15th May and finishes on 31st May. I would be hugely grateful if you felt able to sponsor me. Every £ donated will help young people with autism discover a place that understands them and in which they can fully participate. If you have a few moments do take a look at the BBC documentary about the farm which you can find on the Pennyhooks web site and you’ll see what I mean! Thank you very much for your time and hopefully, donation!
