Story
7th Bristol Beaver Scouts are undergoing a sponsored hikes scheme weve called ‘Hikes for Good’ in aid of assistance dog charity Dogs for Good.
We are trying to complete as many hikes as we can before the end of February and we are going on extra challenging group hikes along the way!
For example a climb up to Beacon Batch - the top of the highest hill in the Mendips, and a twilight hike in the countryside to find out all about what happens when day turns to night (and how to find our way in the dark!).
We have a very special ‘Hikes for Good’ member of the Colony - Nick is an assistance dog in training who inspired us when he came to meet us in November. His training is being funded by the charity Dogs for Good.
Dogs for Good believes in the power of dogs.
Since 1988, Dogs for Good has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities. The charity supports people with complex needs including physical disabilities, autism, dementia and learning disabilities enabling them to lead more independent lives through the help of trained dogs.
They receive over 5,000 enquiries a year and it costs more than £22,000 to train and support each assistance dog. With your sponsorship, they can create more life-changing partnerships. Thank you.
