Story
Executive Summary
Following the events of October 7, acute mental distress has erupted among the citizens of Israel. Preliminary studies indicate a wide range of mental disorders resulting from the massacre and the war. The support services of the state are working hard to respond to the direct victims of the massacre and the war. At the moment, there is no adequate response to the "second circle" of victims, and there is also a huge shortage of psychotherapists for children and youth. The 7 Plus project was established as a non-profit organization with the aim of providing an adequate response to the people who need psychological treatment and do not receive it. Immediate psychological treatment will prevent the development of more complex psychopathologies. In this way, we also intend to reduce the financial and human resources that would otherwise be required, such as psychiatric hospitalization, rehabilitation centers, etc.
The Basics
7 Plus consists of highly trained professional psychologists who have come together to provide long-term therapy to those in need. This includes providing therapy sessions to both Israelis in Israel and Jews overseas who have been mentally traumatized by the October 7 massacre and the ensuing war.
A key aim and success factor will be to ensure an effective system of referrals and that care is made available to and reaches those in need.
Our goal is to offer professional help and support to diverse populations directly and indirectly impacted by the war in Israel and abroad:
+ Children and youth with distress from the war who are not entitled to public care.
+ The families and children of soldiers.
+ The relatives of the direct victims (kidnapped, injured, and deceased).
+ People within Israel who have lived in fear of the next horrendous attack.
+ Families of lone soldiers living abroad.
We aim to provide treatments that enable complete recovery (between 6 and 12 months, or about 40 sessions per person/family).
