Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Red Watch Yeovil are partaking in their next charity event on June 20th - June 21st taking on a whopping 270 mile cycle, visiting every fire station in Somerset, plus one in every neighbouring County. This will be achieved as a relay between 8 of us over two days. 270 miles over two days would be a hard enough challenge for club riders, it is important to note here that the vast majority of us are leisure cyclists at best not completing this distance in a year, let alone two days, so wish us luck!

This year we are taking on the challenge for two charities close to our hearts, Little Princess Trust and The Firefighters charity.

It goes without saying why we will be supporting the firefighters charity, who continually support both serving and retired fire service personnel and their families. This year we will also be sharing the proceeds with the Little Princess Trust to support our colleague and friend Rosie, who's sister Sanna has recently been diagnosed with Peritoneal Epithelioid Mesothelioma, a rare cancer. Since her diagnosis, Sanna has actively supported this charity already by donating her own hair to be made into a wig before undergoing chemotherapy herself, raising over £4000 to date. Red Watch want to take a small step in raising awareness and hopefully raising funds for two fantastic charities.
