Story

This year, 6th Lewes Beavers are joining Operation Ocelot Mission Three to help save Kenya's extraordinary Dakatcha Woodland.

Now I know what you might be thinking. Ocelots. Okay. Kenya. Hmm. Since when did Ocelots live in Kenya?

Well, the answer is that they do not and indeed never have lived in Kenya. However, following the success of Mission One and Mission Two – together helping save threatened habitat in Guatemala and Brazil – Operation Ocelot has now been called upon to save endangered species elsewhere! That is why Mission Three, spearheaded by WLT Patron Steve Backshall, is heading to east Africa's coastal forests to save the precious wildlife of the Dakatcha Woodland.

So what are you waiting for? Join us and Steve Backshall this year, and together we will save the Dakatcha Woodland!

This is how we're doing it:

*We started by estimating our Scout Hut Grounds

*We then created a fundraising target using WLT's calculator

*And now, we're raising money to meet that target and save the same area in Kenya!
