5 for 5 SisterWood Challenge! Inviting you to sponsor me to do the local 5K parkrun, contributing towards our £5K target for the upcoming SisterWood programme starting in January :-), 23 December 2023
Our woodland-based courses help those who suffer from suicidal thoughts, body dysmorphia, anxiety and eating disorders and who display signs of self-harm and self-neglect. We teach them healthy coping strategies for when life gets really tough.

Story

The 5 for 5 SisterWood Challenge invites everyone to get involved and make sure we can get the January programme off the ground!

We are asking everyone to sponsor me to run the 5K Parkrun just before Christmas, inviting donations of 5 of any amount towards our goal of £5000.

Donate whatever feels achievable for you, whether that's 50p, £5, £50, £500 - you get the idea - OR why don't you join me to run on 23rd December at a Parkrun near you and gather sponsorship for SisterWood too?!

I'm passionately determined to bring the next SisterWood programme into reality - inspired by submitting a match funding application last week, where if we can raise £5000, the funder will also donate that amount.

This enables us to run the SisterWood term time programme, providing places to young people who are experiencing anxiety, stress, or depression from lower socioeconomic and marginalised backgrounds, who would typically be unable to attend this kind of provision. Referred from mental health professionals and those working in schools, the young people are often struggling to carry out day to day activities, including education, and have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms such as self-harm, self-neglect and eating disorders.

SisterWood teaches them healthy ways to support themselves, blending practical skills and mindfulness based techniques to create a toolkit for confidence and resilience so that they can handle whatever life brings.

SisterWood needs OUR help to make this programme possible!
