Story
Being raised in a small suburb of Mumbai city in India, as a kid, I have experienced the struggles that a kid should not experience regarding life necessities like water, education and medical care. In a family of five, we had access to only 20-30 litres of drinking and cooking water daily, and there was a continuous electricity shortage because the infrastructure was underdeveloped. My struggles pale when I compare them with children in conflict zones and underdeveloped nations where children still starve for life's essential needs.
In 2023, during a trip to Tanzania for a Kilimanjaro climb, my childhood struggles started to flash back in front of my eyes when I saw small children walking kilometres to access the water, education facilities and primary medical care.
Upon returning from the Kilimanjaro climb, there was never a single day when I did not think about the next mountaineering expedition and connect it with a broader purpose to spread awareness. This year, I will attempt to climb Mont Blanc (4810m), Grand Paradiso (4,061m) and Monte Rosa - Dufourspitze (4,634m) in 7 days.
I am collaborating with "Save the Children Charity" to raise £4000 by climbing these three peaks in Europe, which will be physically and mentally challenging. I have been preparing for this for the last six months and continue until the expedition starts in June.
My goal here is to create more awareness around the issue and also inspire people to take on outdoor activities.
I invite you to be part of my journey of climbing 4K (4000+ meter mountains) for £4K by contributing a small donation to reach my goals or just spreading the word and creating awareness about the children needing food, water, education and healthcare facilities.
