Story
We're doing the Three Peaks!
Despite having left Prince Henry's High School (Evesham) more than 10 years ago (CHRIST), lockdown, Christmases and almost any other occasion has dragged us back to our strange little home town over and over again.
After a crap few years for ALL PEOPLE (lockdown, recessions, wars) we felt inspired to do something GOOD, and as Evesham is what has clearly bound us for life, we thought this would be a good enough cause to get our bodies moving and raise some cash.
We held a vote.
Mental health, dementia and homelessness/cost of living came out top of the things that we wanted to support on a local level. So we decided to hike the 'Three Peaks' in 24 hours to raise money for Evesham District Mental Health Support Services (EDMHSS) and Caring Hands.
EDMHSS offers a safe place for mental health support (counselling, telephone support for children and adults) as well as dementia groups, and Caring Hands supports those living in poverty with food parcels, hot meals, blankets etc. Two great causes which we are all proud to support.
On the weekend of 14/15/16 July, we will be hiking Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (the UK's three highest peaks!!) in 24 hours.
Our team is:
Alice Usher
Chris Macaulay
Josh Caddy
Ben Harvey
Callum Stubbs
Faye Tomkotowicz
Hari Jeyabelan now joins us as a bonus team member (/straggler). Not sure how trustworthy someone who wants to do this at the last minute is, but he’s in it now… Good luck Hari, and sorry in advance.
To support us on this frankly gruelling mission, we would love it if you could chuck as a few quid in support - we'll keep you posted with training, photos and our final time!
You can either choose your preferred charity, or split your donations equally between the two.
