Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. From 6th August to 5th November 2024 I'll be cycling 3,000km in 3 months to help raise funds for The Edward Showler Foundation.
Ed was my youngest brother and he was the best brother you could ever hope for, always smiling, joking, and friendly. In September 2016 he was diagnosed with metastatic Clear Cell Sarcoma at the age of just 27. There is no effective treatment for this disease and as a Doctor, Ed knew this. He lived only another 8 months from his diagnosis to his death in June 2017.
He's left a gaping hole in our family, that will never be filled, and the last seven years haven't been easy. Up until now, I've not felt ready to get out there and do something to help raise funds for the Foundation my parents set-up in Ed's name. Then the other day, in early August something changed, my mind shifted, and I decided then and there that I wanted to ride 3,000 km (1,864 miles) in 3 months in order to help the Foundation reach its target of £1,000,000.
Any donation no matter how big or small will be greatly received and every penny raised will go towards finding a treatment for this devastating illness.
