Story
On the 6th July 2017 I took my daughter Abbie to her first live show in Birmingham, that night we sang along to every song. It would be Chester Bennington's final-ever performance.
On Sunday the 18th August 2024 we are returning to the same venue and will be singing as part of the 1000 Lights band to Linkin Park but this time to raise money for the UPRAWR Mental Health Foundation Charity.
On the 13th August 2017 I lost Doug, my Brother-in-Law and Abbie lost her Uncle when he took his own life.
If you have lost a family member or a friend to the struggle of Mental Health you will know just how important it is what the team at UPRAWR Mental Health Foundation are doing to help provide free mental health counselling and wider services to those who need it.
Every single penny counts and goes toward providing essential services to without fear of judgement.
– 1-to-1 in-person counselling sessions typically lasting 45 mins to 1 hour.
– In-person group counselling sessions covering topics such as depression, anxiety, addiction and many more.
– Online seminars revolving around advice and mental health support.
– In-person women-only group counselling sessions.
But there is always something else to do, so please help me and Abbie raise money for mental health and sponsor us to play as part of 1000 Lights at the Utilita arena.
I may forget the words, Abbie may scream a little more than sing, we might even shed a tear or two but it will all be worth if to raise the funds needed.
