The charity raises funds to install benches in public places raising the awareness of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. Each bench, that is lit up at night, has details of organisations able to listen and help in times of need

Story

Calling all football Supporter Clubs

Legend on the Bench and the Spurs Supporter clubs in the UK have initiated a series of fundraisers for Legend Benches in the UK

But there are over 700 other league and grassroots clubs in the UK and each has many supporters clubs

1938 United are a fan group of Lincoln United FC who play in step 5. We set up to bring people and communities together in to grow the support for the club by building bonds.

Sadly, Lincoln has one of the highest male suicide rates in the country with several in the last few weeks.

Many of our members have either experienced desperate feelings themselves or know someone that has and we want to change that in our City - or at least put something out there to give a light of hope to someone in need.

Ben, our chair, is also a spurs season ticket holder for many years hence the connection to spurs and their legends and supporters groups doing this too.

We are planning more than one of these lit up benches in the city - the first will hopefully be in Hartsolme Park. If this is successful we aim to fundraise again and add them in other areas in the city.

The benches and people involved can be seen here: https://legend-on-the-bench.co.uk/

If you wish to join this quest to try to reduce the country's mental health and suicide deaths, then please contact us, and we will set up the fundraiser for you so that you can manage it within your area

Let the joy of football bring us together
