Story
My amazing Dad/Grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia in September 2016. Since then, my MUM has done an incredible job of looking after him at home - mum is incredible but sadly he got unwell and was admitted to hospital for a short stay.
Having recently moved into a nursing home, as his dementia has rapidly progressed, My sister, Emma, niece Charlotte and my youngest son Henry want to do something to support those and their families living with this awful disease. We would like to support the research so hopefully less people and their loved ones have to watch the deteriation that occurs as dementia takes away every little bit of them. We still love our Dad/Grandad so very much and we know just how crazy he would think we are for walking a marathon. However, we also know just how proud he would be too, he just cannot tell us anymore unfortunately! Here’s to finding a cure for this awful disease one day!
