Story

I am running the London Marathon 2025 for the Royal Osteoporosis Society.

Osteoporosis is a cause close to my heart that has affected family members and many patients I have worked with over the years. I have been volunteer with the Royal Osteoporosis Society as a community presenter for the last 2 years.

Over 3 million people have been diagnosed with osteoporosis in the UK and over 300,000 people in Ireland. 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men will break a bone as a direct result of poor bone health. Few people really understand what osteoporosis is. Even fewer understand the true extent of the impact it has on peoples lives, both young and old, where it can rob those affected of self-confidence, reduce their independence and can make everyday activities a challenge.

The ROS are driving research for the development of new medications and treatments to beat osteoporosis. The ROS provide a free helpline to those who seek guidance and support and provide vital information online. They also offer a free risk checker so you can check your own risk (try it yourself): https://theros.org.uk/risk-checker/?campaign=77a866ee-c708-ed11-82e5-0022481b5a28

I hugely appreciate any donation. Thank you :)
