Story
I'm thrilled to share that I will be taking on the incredible challenge of cycling from Malin Head to Mizen Head again in 2024! This epic journey, spanning the entire length of Ireland, is a true test of endurance, determination and spirit. But I’m not doing it just for the adventure I am doing it to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system. It makes the mucus in these areas thicker and stickier than usual which can lead to severe respiratory and digestive problems. While advances in treatment have significantly improved the quality of life and life expectancy for those with CF, there is still no cure. The daily struggle of living with CF is immense, and the need for ongoing research, medical advancements and support for affected families is critical.
The Malin to Mizen cycle is a 640 kilometer journey from the northernmost point of Ireland to the southernmost tip. It’s a route that will take me through some of the most stunning landscapes of our beautiful country, but also through some grueling terrain. It’s a test of physical and mental stamina, but every pedal stroke will be worth it knowing that I’m helping to make a difference in the lives of those living with CF.
I need your support to reach my fundraising goal. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute to the fight against cystic fibrosis. Your generosity will go directly towards funding vital research to find a cure for CF, providing essential support services to individuals and families affected by CF, enhancing care and treatment options to improve the quality of life for those living with this condition.
By supporting my Malin to Mizen cycle, you’re not just helping me achieve a personal milestone; you’re joining a community dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Together, we can pedal towards a future where CF will stand for Cure Found.
Thank you for your support, encouragement and generosity. Every bit helps and together we can bring hope and a brighter future to those battling cystic fibrosis.
Let's make every kilometer count!
Thanks,
Caoimhin
