Story
Like many parents of multiples we didn't have the easiest start with a high risk pregnancy, our boy/ girl premature DCDA twins in NICU for six weeks and a complicated personal recovery. We were absolutely blown away by the support the hospital teams and the Twins Trust provided to help us through this incredibly tough time, getting us to where we are today with two healthy, thriving toddlers. From antenatal classes, to support helplines, first aid and feeding clinics, the Twins Trust have been there for us every step of the way and now it's my time to give back.
I've chosen to challenge myself with a 33km Swimathon over May and June to raise money to help ensure other families are able to access the same standard of care that we received.
There's one set of twins, triplets or more born every hour in the UK. But Twins Trust research has shown that each of these families is facing huge economic, social, health and developmental challenges.
I'll be joining up with the National 'Born every hour' campaign to help raise funds for the next generation of multiples.
I've committed to swimming 33km (The length of the English Channel as the crow flies) which equates to 1,352 lengths of a 25m swimming pool.
I'd be so grateful if you can help me reach my goal, anything you can donate really will help make a difference. It'll keep me motivated to just keep swimming!
