Story
I am going to be climbing the three peaks in 24 hours on 14th September to raise money for Encephalitis.
My Auntie has recently been affected by Encephalitis and as a result is now suffering with a brain injury caused from the damage.
Worldwide, a person is diagnosed with encephalitis (brain inflammation) every minute. Caused by infection or by autoimmune diseases, encephalitis strikes children and adults alike with no respect for gender or ethnicity. It is an acutely serious condition with high mortality rates, leaving many who survive with an acquired brain injury which will affect their memory, thinking and personality for the rest of their lives.
Alongside raising money for this charity, I want to raise awareness as early diagnosis and treatment increases survival rate but also provides better chance of recovery for those affected.
