Story
My beautiful 7 month old baby nephew (Gabriel) passed away peacefully in November last year. He brought my brother and his partner a lot of joy during his short life despite the many challenges that he faced due to his diagnosis of a very rare and severe form of Zellweger Spectrum Disorder. His life was also very much enriched by the amazing support that he received from the very caring staff at Jigsaw children’s hospice in Carlisle.
Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's only Children's Hospice is a safe and welcoming home from home environment, where families can come to receive specialist respite, end-of-life care and bereavement support.
It costs over £4.8 million a year to ensure the hospice is there for families throughout Cumbria 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Me and my work colleagues and friends are taking part in Bikes Boats Boots 2024 to raise vital funds for this charity, as around 80% of the amount needed to provide this compassionate care is only possible thanks to the generosity of our local community.
Please support us in helping the men, women and children of Cumbria receive the help and kindness they deserve, and gift them the time to create lasting memories filled with love and support.
Thank you all in advance and wish us luck!
