We support & help people to excel after amputation

Story

Finding Your Feet help families affected by amputation or limb absence with activities, services and support to benefit fitness, mental health and personal growth. They believe that forming relationships with peers and being part of a group is one of the most powerful ways to reduce isolation, which has been proven to be a contributing factor to life expectancy in the amputee community.

The goal of the charity is to be on hand with some form of support or opportunity for every amputee in Scotland. The first step towards doing this is to connect people and make them smile. It is a community where people can give and receive support in equal measure, and some just join in to make a few pals.

This year, their founder, Cor Hutton, is celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Finding Your Feet by visiting Machu Picchu. On 20th June 2024, she and the team will undertake a 7-day Inca Trail trek, 26 miles in total.

Meanwhile, in Edinburgh, Slater and Gordon's Scotland Office will be taking part in a "7 Hills of Edinburgh Run/Walkathon" to raise money for and awareness of the charity. 6000 miles away (but perhaps no less hilly!), we'll be covering the same distance as the FYF team.

Whether running, walking, or cheering on our participants, we want to celebrate the impressive work that the charity does, and raise money so that they may continue to provide help and support to individuals in need.
