Story
The CRY 12 A Week Challenge is a campaign created to raise awareness and money and to represent the 12 Young Sudden Cardiac Deaths a Week in the UK. For the 4 weeks from 23rd November till 21st December, I will be completing 12 miles each week alongside my good friend Harvey. We have chosen to extend our challenge by 3 weeks and our 12 miles will consist of running and swimming.
We are taking part in this campaign in memory of my brother Sam Ashcroft who passed away from a sudden cardiac-related issue last december at the age of 23. Sam was an incredible person and we spent so many amazing times together. He shared close relationships with many people and everyone misses him dearly.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
Others can take part in the challenge which starts on 23rd November, running till 1st December. You can complete your 12 miles by walking, running, cycling, swimming and anything in between.
Sudden and preventable deaths are something that no young person or family should ever go through so any donation is be greatly appreciated.
