100 holes of golf in a day at Lutterworth Golf Club · 22 June 2025

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our pal Paul James.

We both met Paul, and one of his brother's, Mark, at Lutterworth Golf Club as kids and spent hours on end together having fun playing golf, trying to beat each other at pool in the clubhouse and downing countless bowls of chips and pints of coke – life was good!

Devastatingly Paul had a heart attack at home at just 37 years old in August 2024, due to the amount of damage sustained to his brain and body he was unable to recover and tragically died in hospital after displaying one last act of kindness with 3 organ donations which went towards saving other lives. He was a loving partner, father, son, brother and friend well known around the Lutterworth area.

We will be taking on 100 holes of golf at Lutterworth Golf Club on Sunday 22nd June 2025 as our fundraising event. The challenge is going to be extremely demanding, both physically and mentally, with the first ball being hit at 4am and the last ball being in the hole by approx. 9pm!

We will be completing the challenge completely on foot, no buggies allowed – that’s cheating! (Dave can feel his feet hurting already!)

As tough as this challenge is going to be, we would like to provide Paul’s family some comfort by raising as much money and awareness as we can for a charity that means a lot to them.

We would really appreciate any support you are able to provide by sponsoring us, in moral support or by sharing this page.

Please also come along to the golf club on the day to cheer us on! There will be a raffle on the day being led by the Brough family in the clubhouse with some great prizes up for grabs! Let us know if you’d like to buy any tickets in advance.

We would like to thank Lutterworth Golf Club and Paul’s family for their support with organising this event and everyone who has provided a prize towards the raffle so far.

Our thoughts, as always, remain with Paul’s partner Annabelle, his children Emelia and Max, and the rest of Paul’s family and friends.

Pete and Dave Brough

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
