Oxton Lacrosse Virtual Race to National Championships for Wirral Hospice

Oxton Lacrosse Virtual Race to National Championships · 9 May 2020
On Saturday the 9th of May Oxton Lacrosse were meant to be competing in their National Championship Finals, in the hope of being crowned National Champions 2020. Obviously due to the recent corona virus outbreak their season and this game was cancelled, alongside all trainings and tournaments and celebrations, after another successful season.
The team has been in regular contact and many are still keeping up their training in whatever way they can (some in preparation for world championships for their country). Oxton Lacrosse were saddened to hear about the loss of funding the pandemic has meant to their local charity, Wirral Hospice, and they were inspired by the Move It May campaign they have launched.
Oxton Lacrosse wanted to take part in Move It May and had an idea... They have decided that between them they are going to make the virtual journey from their club to the championship venue in Milton Keynes on Saturday 9th May, a mere 300km! The players between them will share out the 300km and aim to get there in one day!
We are doing this to help raise the vital funds needed by Wirral Hospice and we really appreciate your support for us and them at this challenging time. Please give what you can and track our journey on our Instagram page @oxtonlacrosse
