Open Road is a substance misuse charity, and has been proving the communities of Essex and Medway with specialist recovery support for 30 years. To celebrate this amazing achievement, we are going on a recovery walk. 

• We are walking to support our family and friends in recovery. 
• We are walking to honor the loved ones we have lost. 
• We are walking to remove the stigma of addiction and substance misuse.
• We are walking because Every Body Knows Somebody who has been affected by addiction.

Over the past year, we have seen an increase of people coming to us in need of support. People like you and me struggling with their mental health due to the pandemic and the stress of the social restrictions put in place. These people have taken the first step and come to us for support - we want to celebrate these people, and celebrate recovery. It is possible with the right support. 

So please join us on our recovery walk, celebrating 30 years of Open Road, and more importantly, celebrating our wonderful clients and recovery from addiction. 

• Where - anywhere, there is no specific location. 
• When - Sunday 4th July 2021 - anytime you want to start
• Who - Everyone is invited. You can even walk with the family dog. 
• How far - as far as you want to go - it is your journey.
• Sign up - Donate £3 to the just giving page and off you go. Don't forget to ask your friends and family to join you. 
• Spread the word - Make sure you tag Open Road in all of your social media posts with photographs and videos of you on your walk.
