Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

I am raising money for French Bulldog Saviours, a very special charity that rescue Frenchies. All animals are special and deserve to be cared for and loved, but for us, Frenchies are super special because my gorgeous Shepsky girl called Lexi has a French Bulldog brother named Hogan - you can find him and Lexi on instagram @thefrenchieandtheshepsky to see just how great he is. Hogan is the most gorgeous, loving, funny character and it breaks my heart to know there are dogs just like my Hogan being mistreated and not given the love and care they deserve.

I was first made aware of FBS when I met Roscoe a FBS rescue at our local park, he has been rescued at 5 months old from China. When he was rescued he had no fur at all and he was in very poor state, his fur with lots of care from his Mum, has mostly grown back, however it will never fully return and he will need ongoing care for this. He continues to suffer now as he was mistreated as a puppy, his body received trauma that was not treated so was unable to heal as it should, meaning that he now has to have treatment such as hydrotherapy and he is already showing signs of arthritis and he isn't even 2 years old yet. Saying all that Roscoe is one of the lucky ones, he was saved by FBS and he now has a home with his new Mum who gives him all the love and care he deserves. Once I met Roscoe I could not stop thinking about him and how many Frenchies out there needed help and I decided I needed to do something.

After thinking long and hard, I decided raising money to help FBS would be the best way I could help. I have raised money and donated where possible but I knew I needed to do more. So I contacted Dogfit who help to train dogs and their owners to run Canicross (running with your dog). Me and Lexi start training in April once Lexi reaches 1 year old. Lexi is a Husky cross German Shepherd and I am a keen to get back into running. We are excited and nervous to start our training but knowing we are raising money and awareness for such a great cause along the way makes it even more special for us.

We have set up an Instagram page @onegirlandhershepsky where you will be able to keep up to date with all of our progress. We will be entering into Canicross challenges along the way and hope in the future to enter into some of the big challenges.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and for reading all about us. Any donation or any awareness this gives to FBS is super special to us.

If you would like to donate, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
