Join us for One Special Week, 3rd-7th October, as we take over Leamington to host a series of events to help SpecialEffect help more gamers with disabilities to play video games and ultimately, change lives. Part of SpecialEffect’s flagship fundraiser, One Special Day.

✨ Monday 3rd October - Pub Quiz ✨

What could be a better way to kick off our week of fundraising than a pub quiz? Put your knowledge to the test and your pride on the line as 30 teams go head-to-head to battle it out to claim the trophy for the most knowledgeable game devs in Leamington! 

📍 Location: The Neighbourhood, 44 Warwick St, Leamington Spa CV32 5JS
🕡 Time: 6:30pm-11:30pm

▪️ 30 teams of 5 people
▪️ £250 per team, which covers food and drinks
▪️ 5 rounds of quiz questions, with a game general knowledge specific round!

🎤 Friday 7th October - Maraoke! 🎤

Round off the week by singing your heart out! Leamington’s got talent…and it’s about time we heard it. Register here for your tickets.

📍Location: Altoria, 45 Warwick Street, Leamington spa, CV32 5JX
🕡 Time: 6:30pm-10pm

Doors open at 6:30pm, with Maraoke starting at 7:00pm, and you can sign-up with the team inside if you want to take to the stage with your own rendition of popular classic songs.

Tickets cost £5 with all proceeds going directly to SpecialEffect. You can pay on the door but we do recommend booking online and in advance as we're predicting it to be a busy one. 

This is an 18+ event as there will be a bar serving alcohol.

What is Maraoke?
Maraoke is karaoke with a stupid, amazing twist: all of the songs have been rewritten to be about video games…

...What?
Seriously. We’ve taken 400 of the best songs ever and changed their lyrics so they’re about games. The next step is simple: we sing them with you at Maraoke nights across the world.

What can I expect at a Maraoke show?
Every Maraoke event is an inclusive riot of brilliant songs, stupid jokes and amazing moments. We operate a strict Safe Space policy and you get to be involved in the on-stage chaos much or as little as you like. There’s no forced fun — sign up or sing from the back, be a superstar or cheer on the singers as part of the crowd. We run Maraoke like it’s the best concert of your life.

What if I can't sing?
We don’t care! If you choose to take the stage you won’t be judged on pitch, only commitment, and the hosts and the audience are there to back you up. You have the mic, but everyone sings together. There’s only one rule at Maraoke and it’s this: no-one dies alone.
