Story
We are proud to announce that our nominated charity for the year 2016/2017 is ENABLE Scotland.
ENABLE Scotland was founded in Scotland in 1954. The charity fights discrimination and inequality, ensuring that people who have learning disabilities are regarded as equal members of society and have the same choices and opportunities in life as everyone else.
Our Managing Director, Stephen Park Brown said: “We are delighted to announce that ENABLE Scotland is our nominated charity for 2016/2017 and we look forward to working in partnership with the organisation to spearhead initiatives that will raise much needed funds for all of the tremendous work that they do.”
ENABLE Scotland provides a wide range of support services for people who have learning disabilities and their families. Since different people need support with different things, those services are designed to be flexible and are tailored to each individual. This could include:
• Support at home
• Support to find a job
• Support to make friends and meet new people
• Support to get more involved in the local community
• Support for families and carers
• Support to manage money
ENABLE Scotland’s CEO Theresa Shearer said: “We are so pleased that NVT Group have chosen ENABLE Scotland as its charity partner this year. Their support will help us to continue to provide valuable services so that people who have learning disabilities can live the life they want and actively participate in their community.”
