Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page! This summer we're raising funds for Bay Search and Rescue by taking part in the Annual Cross Morecambe Bay Walk on Sunday 9th August 2015.
Founded in 1999, Bay Search and Rescue is an independent charity which relies on sponsors and donations to make sure people enjoy Morecambe Bay safely. The bay's tides and quicksands can be notoriously tricky to navigate, and people can and do get into trouble out on the sands – but with a highly trained team of unpaid volunteers and a fleet of all-terrain vehicles, Bay Search and Rescue are always ready to act when lives are at stake.
The charity also works with HM Coastguard, North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria and Lancashire Fire & Rescue and local police, forming a crucial part of the region's public security network.
But Bay Search and Rescue can't do this vital work without local support, and they rely on annual events like The Cross Bay Walk for funding. The walk is also a fantastic day out, and a unique opportunity for the local community to come together for a good cause and enjoy the beautiful coastline stretching from Arnside to Kents Bank – led by the Queen's Guide to the Sands, Cedric Robinson.
We'd like this to be the year when the amazing volunteers at Bay Search and Rescue are blown away by the level of support they receive from the local community. Please help us to help them by donating here on our page and sponsoring a Nublue walker. No donation is too small, and we'd love to smash our target for Bay Search and Rescue!
