Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
We have reached the month of February and the departure date approaches. I have managed to injure myself several times but have not been distracted from the job of training for the challenge. If you are visiting the page for the first time, I have left the trip details on below.
You may already know about this! Some people think I am mad, some that I need to take some exercise and get fit. Truth be told, it's really a bit of both, so dig deep....please! I have to admit that the closer the time comes to set off on this expedition, the less confident I feel so I am stepping up the training. Mostly running or cycling on the road but now I have thrown in a few spin classes a week which are proving beneficial. Got a puncture too at the weekend. Fortunately this left me stranded in the middle of the countryside, but close to a hostelry with warm food and cold beer! Well then, what am I doing?
In February, I am flying down to Bariloche in Argentina where I will jump on a bike and cycle through the Andes, into Chile and eventually to the Pacific Coast near Puerto Varas. This is a seriously undulating route of 540 kilometres which may result in blisters, sore legs but most certainly an aching bottom. Have you seen those saddles?
I will update this page regularly to keep everyone informed as to my progress both in training and when completing the challenge. So, please check back regularly to find out how everything is moving on.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mencap gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks again,
Noel
