Story
Just before ringing in the bells this year I decided to bite the bullet and finally sign up for the Glasgow Kiltwalk after wanting to do one for a few years now! I am really up for the challenge as I do love walking, so as I prepare, hope to get plenty of big hikes in and up my daily step count throughout the year and share my progress in the lead up!
Not only will this be good for me mentally and physically (especially as I spend 8 hours a day slouched at a desk), I am happy to be sponsoring CFINE, an amazing charity based in Aberdeen that looks to tackle poverty. They provide amazing services such as food pantries, foodbanks and cooking classes for budget meals.
CFINE states their mission as the following: CFINE’s core purpose and aims are to improve health and wellbeing and the environment, tackle poverty and build resilience for and with disadvantaged, vulnerable, low-income individuals, families and communities in North East Scotland.
I have seen the amazing work this charity do through my mum's role at the organisation so I understand how vital the services that they provide are. In the ongoing cost of living crisis it is so important that support is there for those that need it most.
I am both nervous and excited for this challenge as I know it will be tough, as I am doing the Mighty Stride, which is just under 23 miles (22.7). The walk will begin in Glasgow Green and will finish at Loch Lomond & the Trossachs in Balloch so I can only imagine this will be tiring! Any support will be truly appreciated, whether you are able to donate or even just share my page, it all goes a long way.
