!!!!WE HAVE DONE IT!!!!
NextGen has chosen Young Epilepsy as their charity of the year for 2019 and although we are delighted to have reached our ambitious target, it isn't too late for you to donate.
We have had a very busy year and have completed so far:
March 26th: Purple Day - International Epilepsy Day. We held a cake sale around Hopton Park Industrial Estate with all proceeds going towards our target. Cakes were kindly donated by Haydens Bakery and we raised a huge £529.43! Thank you to all who took part!
Sunday April 28th: Alex and Karen completed the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019. Alex completed the marathon in 3 hours 41 minutes and Karen completed it in 4 hours 35 minutes. Fantastic effort!
Saturday June 22nd: Lake District 3000 Footers - We completed one of the hardest single day endurance challenges in the country. Over a 16 hour period, including travel time, we managed to climb England's four highest mountains, each of which is over 3000ft. These are Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. In total we ascended over 10000m and hiked over 20 miles in fair conditions. Team Nextgen does it again and we are now 60% of the way to our target!
Sunday August 4th - 5-a-side football tournament - 10 teams battled for the coveted Nextgen Cup and all had a great day. Congratulations go to the 'Tangarines' who beat 'Sicko Mode' in a tightly contested final. The BBQ was busy all day, so thanks to Claudiu, Dave, Karen and Milly for their support. This event has raised over £450.00 towards the total!!!!
Monday 09th September - The golf day at North Wilts Golf Club saw10 teams of 4 golfers battling it out to win the inaugural 'Nextgen Cup'! Well done to Skills Direct for lifting the trophy, but more importantly to the 40 players who made it a great day, despite the rain, to raise a massive £1385.46!
Young Epilepsy is a fantastic charity that helps children of all ages to cope with the life changing effects of Epilepsy, as well as doing ground breaking research into the condition. Their unique school in Lingfield provides care and education for all types of Epilepsy as well as looking after hundreds of children with other learning and life difficulties. We are hoping to raise money to fund the purchase of instruments and equipment for their sensory centre, as this will make a real difference to the lives of these amazing young people who are less fortunate than us.
We have chosen Young Epilepsy because the charity is very close to our hearts, with a member of the team having a child with the condition. Having lived with Epilepsy, we know first hand how debilitating it can be and how brilliant Young Epilepsy has been in helping Milly through this most difficult of times. Over the course of 2019 we aim to do a number of self funded sponsored events and promotions to help reach our target and your support would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for your donation.
