This is an attempt to do something never achieved before, creating an unofficial World record! To ride a tiny 85cc motorcycle made in 1990 one thousand miles in 24 hours!
This 22 year old motorcycle has previously carried me from John O' Groats to Lands End In 20 hours 58 minutes, remarkable for a bike with a top speed of around 50 miles per hour!
The bike is Soichiro Honda's legendary Honda 90, of which over 60 million were made and sold Worldwide.
I will be riding, separately, with Mick Hall who has made two previous attempts at this challenge, the first of which ended with broken bones and the second acieving 1000 miles in 25 hours 5 minutes!
This is an extreme challenge, testing both Honda engineering and a riders resilliance to the very limit. The chances of success will be slim indeed, with great odds against completion, that will require much planning and preparation of rider and machine to have any chance of success.
The Children's Air Ambulance is an extremely worthy charity covering all of England and Wales, helping very sick children when they most need it.
Please give generously. Thank you! :)
