The Three Peaks Challenge involves hiking the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1,345m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales (Snowdon 1,085m) in under 24 hours including the drive between. We will be covering 37km in walking distance over 3,064m in elevation and burning a minimum of 6,000 calories across the three hikes (https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/). With limited sleep and unpredictable mountain weather to contend with (the forecast currently shows -1 degrees and snowing on Ben Nevis...), this is set to be a real challenge both mentally and physically. As tough as the Three Peaks will be, it pales into insignificance in comparison to living life homeless. Alabaré is a charity for the homeless providing not only a place to stay in times of need but also specialist support to young parents with babies, people with health issues and armed forces veterans.
