About New Leaf Support
The charity has been set up to provide a ‘Safe House’ for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. Domestic violence not only relates to physical and mental abuse, it can also take the form of elderly abuse, trafficking, rape, stalking, FGM, parental abuse, child abuse, forced marriage, and honour based violence.
The main objectives of the charity are as outlined below:
To provide a safe house which is welcoming and private.
Safety accommodation has full police and fire brigade system.
To provide support to help with practical issues.
Provide food and other essentials women and children
We risk assess every client and make referrals to various organisations.
Provide an alternative option to refuges which is first of its kind in the UK.
Provide a higher level of safety for these women and children.
To offer permanent accommodation where appropriate with continued support or refer to support housing depending on the clients needs.
The charity is a non-profit making. The purpose of fundraising is to cover the costs of the service and various support. The cost to run the service is just over £15,000 a year.
