Update 09/09 - Amazing support from everyone thank you!
Ive been riddled with injury with my damaged ligaments over the last 6 weeks, and I only came off crutches 3.5 weeks ago, I've had 1 run on the 7th September, and that's me until Sunday. I have already hit my target, but Im not stopping there, I would love to smash it, and raise over £1000 to help Cancer Research detect Cancer earlier. My mam has been through 5 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy already, and a follow up scan is booked for the end of this month to see how the treatment has gone. Please help if you can, and let's beat cancer together - sooner!

I've always wanted to take part in The Great North Run, since January I've wanted to make a change in my life, to get fitter and challenge myself more. Sage has given me the opportunity this year to enter the Great North Run and raise money for Cancer Research.
I'm not a runner, never have been, and possibly never will be.
The most I've ever ran is 2-3miles, and I generally stop after one or two runs due to the pain I get in my knees. I'm still getting this pain now, just I can't and wont quit
I've lost both family and friends to Cancer. 2 of my Grandparents died of Bowel Cancer together in Hospital, and recently someone very close to me has been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. Fortunately it has been caught early, and with todays advances in research, the chance of it being detected, and removed is much much higher. You will struggle to find someone who hasn't had a friend or family member who has been affected by Cancer in one way or another.
There are in total 249 of us from Sage Uk Ltd (213 internal staff & 36 external) which create #TeamSage and our esteemed CEO Stephen Kelly has offered to donate £2 for every minute a colleague is faster than him. I'm DEFINITELY taking him up on this!! It's going to be very hard work, not as hard as going through Chemotherapy, radiotherapy or even surgery, but I need to do my best to reach my goal for running, and for raising money, but also the teams goal of £68,000.
If you can please help, lets raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research and lets beat Cancer together!
